Chosen by Golf Digest as the #1 Public course in America, Piñon Hills is an excellent example of modern golf course architecture with large terraced greens, grass bunkers and sculptured serpentine fairways. All holes are set among beautiful mesas in a semi-desert terrain and accented by a multitude of gnarled piñon trees. Noted course designer Ken Dye was chosen to create this scenic course.  He started with an outstanding site set amid sandstone hills, scenic outcroppings, spectacular mesas and dramatic arroyos, and used his talent to design what has become rated the best course in New Mexico.

Far-ranging views set the emotional tone for this course, but lovely ponds, exposed rocks, winding canyons and sandstone hills add to the golfer’s challenge. Piñon Hills Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course with all the amenities a golfer would expect to find at more luxurious resort courses. Take advantage of the full-service Pro Shop, the Snack Bar, or the driving range and practice greens. A full schedule of tournaments awaits all players, from the novice to the “scratch” golfer. We invite you to participate in the Piñon Hills Classic tournament (usually in mid-July) or the Piñon Hills Couples tournament (usually in mid-August). Piñon Hills’ multi-tee layout allows golfers of all skill levels to enjoy this beautiful course. With total tee distances of 5,522 yards from the red tees to 7,249 yards from the gold tees, there’s a course setup that suits your driving capabilities.
