STANDING OPERATING PROCEDURES
(1) U.S.G.A. rules of golf apply at all times unless modified by local or NNMSMGA rules, in which event players will be notified before teeing off.
(2) Handicaps are established based upon NNMSMGA tournaments only. Other scores do not apply. All tournaments are flighted based on handicaps and number of players. All flights shall contain an approximately equal number of players, if possible.
(3) All players must promptly check in at the designated location upon arrival at the golf course.
(4) Entry sheets and checks payable to NNMSMGA must be received by the cut off date. Placement in Tournaments is determined by postmark date. ONLY MEMBERS WHO DO NOT MAKE THE TOURNAMENT LIST WILL BE NOTIFIED.
(5) Cancellation notifications received by the Tournament Director at least 72 hours prior to tournament time will result in a refund. Cancellation notifications received by the Tournament Director after 72 hours prior to tournament time for emergency situations may result in a refund, minus the portion of the fee allocated for prizes. Emergency situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Board of Directors or the Tournament Director.
(6) All tournament fees include green fees, ½ cart, prize money, and lunch or socials, if included for the player only. Guests for lunches or socials must be registered and paid for separately.
(7) The majority of players will play from the same tees, normally the men’s forward tees, and handicaps will be based on that tee position. The Tournament Committee, acting through the Tournament Director, will assign tee positions for each flight. When flights of higher or lower handicap players are assigned other tees, handicaps for those players will be based on that tee position.
(8). Immediately upon completing the last hole, each group will move to the side and have all scores recorded on the official scorecard, comparing with a second scorecard for accuracy, adding the score totals, and obtain the signatures of all players in the group as to the accuracy of the scores. Upon return to the Pro Shop, the cards must be promptly turned in to the Tournament Committee or their designated individual..
(1) Closest to the pin on up to four par three’s will receive prizes of either golf balls or gift certificates. A member may receive a prize on more than one closest to the pin during a tournament.
(2) In the event of ties, awards are determined by matching scores beginning with the #1 handicap hole and continuing to the #2, #3, #4, etc. until a winner is determined.
(2) Awards will be made to winners following play. Individuals winning a flight award may also receive one or more closest-to-the-pin and one /or more hole-in-one awards.
(3) The Association will award a $200.00 prize for each and every hole-in-one made by any member in an Association tournament
Remember… our purpose is to enjoy golf in a competitive format with friends and others who enjoy the game. Let’s play by the rules and extend the courtesies of golf to all. Your Board of Directors
